5 Bible Verses for My Happiest Moments

When we think about our relationship with God, it can be easy to focus on the moments when we need Him most. When we're struggling, we pray. When we're confused, we pray. When we're hurting, we pray. When we don't know what to do, we turn to God. And of course, we should.

5 Bible Verses for My Happiest Moments

But I've been thinking lately about how important it is to remember that faith isn't only about getting through the hard times. It's also about celebrating the good ones. God wants to hear from us when we're happy, too.

When something we've prayed for finally happens. When we're enjoying time with our families. When we feel content with where we are. When we have a really good day for no particular reason. When we look around and realize just how blessed we are. Those moments deserve prayer and praise, too.

I want my relationship with God to be balanced. I don't want Him to only hear from me when I need something. I want to thank Him for the blessings in my life, celebrate the good things He's given me, and recognize that even the simple joys of everyday life are gifts.

Here are a few Bible verses that remind me to slow down, appreciate the good, and praise God for it all.

1. This Is the Day the Lord Has Made

Psalm 118:24

"This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."

I love how simple this verse is. We don't need to wait for something extraordinary to happen before we have a reason to rejoice. Today is enough.

Sometimes we get so caught up in what's next that we forget to appreciate what's happening right now. We think we'll be happy when we accomplish the next thing, buy the house, get the promotion, take the vacation, reach the goal, or get through the difficult season.

But Psalm 118:24 reminds me that today itself is a gift from God. Even an ordinary Tuesday filled with school drop-offs, laundry, errands, messy kitchens, and little moments with my kids is a day worth being thankful for. There is so much beauty in the ordinary when we take the time to notice it.

2. Every Good and Perfect Gift Is From Above

James 1:17

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

This verse makes me think about all of the little blessings we can easily overlook. Our families, homes, friendships, a beautiful sunset, a good conversation, laughter with our kids, a meal around the table, a peaceful morning, or a dream finally coming together.

Not every blessing has to be something huge. Sometimes God's goodness shows up in the smallest parts of our everyday lives.

When I stop and really think about it, there is so much to be grateful for. And instead of simply enjoying those things, I want to remember where they came from and say, "Thank You, God."

3. Rejoice in the Lord Always

Philippians 4:4

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"

The word always really stands out to me.Our relationship with God shouldn't disappear when life gets good. Sometimes we can become so focused on asking God for the next thing that we forget to celebrate what He's already done. This verse reminds me to praise God not just for what He can do for me, but simply because He is good.

There will always be something else to worry about, something else to accomplish, or something else we're waiting for. But there is also always something to celebrate. I want to get better at noticing those moments and thanking God for them.

4. Delight Yourself in the Lord

Psalm 37:4

"Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

I love the word delight because it feels different from simply asking God for something.

To delight in God means to enjoy Him. To find joy in our relationship with Him. To want to spend time with Him, not only because we need an answer, but because we love Him.

It's easy to make prayer a list of requests.

"God, please help me with this."

"God, please fix this."

"God, please let this work out."

But what if sometimes our prayer was simply:

"God, thank You."

Thank You for my family. Thank You for this day. Thank You for the blessings I don't deserve. Thank You for the things I prayed for that I now get to experience. I want to remember that God isn't just someone I run to when something goes wrong. He is someone I can celebrate life with.

5. Enjoy the Gifts God Has Given You

Ecclesiastes 3:12–13

"I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God."

This verse might be my favorite for this entire post. Sometimes we can feel guilty for enjoying life. We feel like we should always be doing more, accomplishing more, or being productive. But Ecclesiastes reminds us that finding happiness and satisfaction in our lives is a gift from God.

It's okay to enjoy the meal.

It's okay to laugh with your kids.

It's okay to sit outside and enjoy your morning coffee.

It's okay to celebrate something you've worked hard for.

It's okay to be excited about something good happening in your life.

It's okay to stop and say, "Wow, God, thank You for this."

We don't have to feel guilty for enjoying the blessings He has given us.

Bonus Verse: Give Thanks to the Lord

1 Chronicles 16:34

"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever."

At the end of the day, I think this is what it all comes back to. God is good. Not just when things go our way. Not just when our prayers are answered the way we hoped. Not just when life feels easy. God is good through every season. And because of that, there is always a reason to give thanks.

Final Thoughts

I think sometimes we unintentionally make our relationship with God one-sided. We bring Him our worries, fears, questions, and problems. And He absolutely wants us to bring those things to Him, but let's not forget to bring Him our joy, too.

Let's thank Him when something wonderful happens.

Let's praise Him when we're feeling blessed.

Let's celebrate the little moments.

Let's recognize the beauty in our everyday lives.

Faith doesn't always have to look like crying out to God in the middle of a difficult season. Sometimes faith looks like lifting our hands in praise because life is good and we know exactly Who to thank for it. So today, I want to encourage you to look around. What is something good in your life right now? Maybe it's something big. Maybe it's something incredibly small. Whatever it is, take a moment to thank God for it. This is the day the Lord has made. Let's rejoice and be glad in it. And let's never forget that the good things in our lives are gifts, too.
