Boston & Martha’s Vineyard

We had a wedding in Boston, so we decided to make it a family trip and add a visit to Martha's Vineyard. Spending three days in Boston and five days in MV seemed like a perfect amount of time.
This was our first trip as an immediate family away from home. I was nervous because it was Bradley's first trip on a plane, but he did so good!
We stayed in a nice Airbnb in Cambridge, MA. The neighborhood was great and we were able to walk to a couple of parks.
Since we had Bradley, we rented a car so we were able to travel from point A to B. We learned real quick that parking in Boston is INSANE AND SO EXPENSIVE. On the first full day, we went to the Boston Museum of Science. I felt Bradley was too young to enjoy it, but it gave us something to do. We then went to explore the city by walking around and went to the Boston Commons. The next day we went to the Boston Tea Party Museum and it was pretty cool. It was about an hour long and very interactive. Bradley did great and waved at everyone.

We weren't able to get to the Boston Aquarium or Harvard Square. They were on the list to check out.
We ate at Flour, Boston Sail Loft, and Dumpling House. I recommend all of these.
When we were done with our Boston part of the trip, we woke up early and drove an hour and twenty minutes to the ferry. The ferry ride was about 45 minutes. We stayed at one of the best Airbnbs because it was PERFECT for families and so stinking cute. I felt like we were staying in a fairy tale.
Martha’s Vineyard was very slow and relaxing. It is such a beautiful place. It is pricey when it comes to eating. There is about $1-$2 mark up in the grocery store.
We enjoyed the beach for a few hours while the sun was shining. The beaches we went to were Edgartown Beach and Joseph Silvia State Beach, which are right next to each other. They are also right by Jaws Bridge, where Jaws was filmed.
I suggest going to visit the Cedar Tree Neck Sanctuary, there are two different trails. You should walk the Polly Hill Arboretum ($5 pp), especially if you love plants. The Aquinnah Cliffs are also a spot to go check out, it is beautiful. A good day trip is visiting the Chappaquiddick Island, it is a 5 minute ferry ride for $15. We went to the Mytoi Japanese Garden ($5 pp), Dike Bridge, East Beach, and North Neck while were on the island.

There was a rainy day we wanted to go bowling at Barn Bowl & Bistro, but we didn't know you have to reserve the lanes ahead of time and it was all booked. Other than that rainy day it, the weather was so nice. It was 70s the whole time.

Packing wise, I did pretty good. Did I overpack? Well, I always over pack, but not too much. I would say for Bradley these items were a must:
his blankie
his carseat
plenty of pacifiers
some favorite toys
sound machine
camera and monitor
bottle, water bottle, and snack holder
water diapers and diapers
snacks for airport and plane ride
baby sunscreen and hat
floatie
It was such a great trip and we made great memories <3
