Renewing of Your Mind

Before immediate judgment, I hope you can sit down and clear your mind. It is time to start allowing dialogue without the immediate urge to resist or disagree. It is time to understand that freedom of speech doesn't mean you should speak.
Below is a summary and my take on the message I heard at church this past Sunday. It was a tough day because we were going over the past events of the school shooting in Denver, Iryna Zarutska, and Charlie Kirk.
"I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way - in all your speaking and in all your knowledge- because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you." 1 Corinthians 1:4-6
I love you, I’m for you, I give thanks to God for you because of the grace of God.
2 Corinthians 6:1-2 reminds us that we are working together with Jesus because we know the truth about God. Here’s the hard part, we can’t fight for justice just for the sake of justice. We can’t let our desire to “make things right” turn into us playing judge. Why? Because only God is just. He sees what we don’t. He has plans we can’t always understand. And sometimes our rush to “fix” things is really just us putting ourselves in the way of His greater plan. Accepting this truth is difficult, especially when we've been wronged and our instincts seek revenge. This is where faith plays a role. It's the moment we surrender, pray, and place our trust in Him.
But there’s another side; we can’t allow comfort to become an obstacle either. We can’t stay silent just because speaking might cost us followers, influence, or approval. Society today questions what God has already declared true. The foundation has shifted, but God hasn’t. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

It’s sad to see so many “influencers” talk about God when it’s easy, but when tragedy or controversial issues come up, they stay on the fence. Why? Because profit and followers have become more important than living out faith.
But Scripture is clear, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2
2 Corinthians 6:8-10 reminds us that our hope is in the character of God, unchanging, steady, and true.
Here’s the truth:
Anyone can say something.
But not everyone has something worth saying.
Social media gives everyone a microphone, but not every voice is rooted in truth. If your knowledge isn’t grounded in God’s Word, then speaking can actually do more harm than good.
Ideology before theology is dangerous. Theology must come first. Our filter must always be Jesus, otherwise, we risk becoming an obstacle for someone searching for Him.
1 Corinthians 1:7-9 reminds us to use our gifts and platforms as faithful servants. Our hope is not in “fixing” this broken world. Our hope is in Jesus, who has already won. We wait for His return, knowing He will ultimately defeat evil and finish what He started. Until then, we bring light into darkness. We defend faith and family, but we do not attack. We love. We pray for our enemies. We remain faithful. Because at the end of the day, influence fades, platforms shift, and followers come and go. But being known by the Father? That’s eternal.
This is the posture I want to carry forward, not just speaking, but speaking truth with love. Not rushing to judge, but trusting the One who already reigns. I encourage you to seek truth, gain knowledge, and lean into open, grace-filled conversations with those around you.
