Scriptures I’m Praying Over My Family in 2026

pray

As a mom, there’s nothing more sacred than praying over your family. I don’t always have the right words. I don’t always know what the year ahead will hold. But I do know that God’s Word is steady, trustworthy, and powerful, especially when it comes to covering our homes and the people we love most. As we step into 2026, these are the Scriptures I’m praying over my family.

Peace in Our Home

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24–26

I’m asking God for peace, not the absence of hard moments, but His presence in the middle of them, peace in our conversations, peace in our routines, and peace that fills every room.

Protection Over Their Hearts and Minds

“The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” Psalm 121:8

I pray for protection over my family in ways I can see and in ways I can’t, protection over their bodies, thoughts, emotions, and their relationships. I trust God to guard what I cannot.

Faith That Grows Deep

“...But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

My prayer for 2026 is that our family’s faith wouldn’t just exist, but grow deep roots. That we would know God personally, talk about Him often, and live out our faith in quiet, everyday ways.

Wisdom for Every Decision

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.” James 1:5

There are so many decisions that come with family life, big and small. I’m praying for wisdom in parenting, in work, in relationships, and in the direction we choose as a family this year.

Strength for Every Season

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

Life brings unexpected challenges, and I pray that my family will always know where to turn. We will find strength in God when things feel heavy, and remember that we’re never walking through anything alone.

Gratitude for the Ordinary Days

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

I’m praying for grateful hearts, not just on the good days, but on the ordinary ones too. Gratitude helps us notice God’s hand in the small moments that often mean the most.

Closing Thoughts

These Scriptures aren’t just words; they’re prayers I will return to again and again. I pray for them in the quiet moments, over bedtime routines, and on the days when I don’t know what else to pray. If you’re heading into a new year and wondering how to pray for your family, start with Scripture. God’s Word gives us language when our hearts feel full or unsure.
