Why I Write
A huge reason I enjoy having this website is to get my thoughts down on "paper." I could do this in a journal, but the idea of sharing my thoughts with someone and possibly connecting with them brings me joy.
I write to get deeper into my thoughts, share creative material, provide advice, and share my faith. There are times that it comes easy to me and times where I feel empty like all of my ideas and thoughts have melted away. On the days that I have almost too many thoughts I start jotting down points. In the beginning of March, I felt deflated with no ideas or content. Today, at the end of March I have three topics that I am working on that are flowing out of my brain through my fingertips onto this virtual paper.
It is important to view your outlet as just that, an outlet. Don't force it. If I need a break from an outlet then I use another. It is healthy to have more than one for this reason. You will feel no pressure, still get stress relief, and produce joy.
Having an outlet or many is a great way to cope with stress and anxiety while expressing yourself. I would say I have many outlets including writing, d-i-ying, drawing, graphic design, cleaning, and organizing. I list all of that to say there are many types of ways for anyone to find a release. For you, it could be any of what I listed or cooking, gardening, lifting weights, running, or playing video games.
You don't have to be perfect while channeling your inner peace. I will be the first to admit that I am not the best at some of my outlets, but I enjoy working on them. Do what you enjoy and keep with it.
