"Baby, It's Cold Outside" Baby Shower

When it came to planning my baby shower with my sister and mom, it was hard to pick a theme for baby Bradley. We knew if we were having a girl we would do a tea party and have it called Tea with Mommy or Baby is Brewing. However, we were so stuck when we tried to come up with a boy theme that wasn't common.

Finally, with a ton of searching and pinteresting, we came down to Boys Are Out of This World, We Can Bearly Wait, and Baby, It's Cold Outside. I loved the winter idea since we were having a January baby shower and loved the color scheme. It is always great to start with an inspo board to create your vision (do this through pinterest, powerpoint, photoshop, and/or print and glue ideas on paper). The next step would be to figure out where the party will take place and decor. Make a list of decor you want to get and where you are going to place it.

Mom and I went shopping for the winter and snow decorations in November and December since it was all with the Christmas decorations. I am so glad we planned ahead of time because they had nothing related to winter or snow after Christmas.

I ordered an Amazon kit of games that included "predictions & advice," "bingo," "emoji pictionary," "word scramble," "guess who?" We never got to the game part, but I recommend you try to do them! I wish we would have, but time got away from us. I do love the predictions & advice cards that people filled out. I can't wait to see who was the closest to baby Bradley's appearance and when he will get here.

We added diapers to the counter for people to write a message to us for when we have to change those late-night diapers. It is a fun way to keep guests occupied and you get a fun note for later on.

My mom got the party favors which were blue bath bombs with a sign that read "Boys Are the Bomb." Such a great idea! Some other favor ideas would be cookies, mini succulents, mini hot chocolate kits, "ready to pop" popcorn bags, or "a baby is brewing" tea or coffee.

Keep track of the gifts that come in and have someone write down what people get you if you open them at the shower. It is proper etiquette to send a handwritten thank-you note after you get a gift. If they can take the time and spend the money to spoil you and your precious baby, you can take some time to write a thank you to show your appreciation.

Much Love,

E
