Monthly Madness- February 2023

And just like that we are into the second month of the new year. Having a mini me makes time go by 10 million times faster especially when planning his FIRST birthday. WHAT?! HOW?! How can I already be planning little man's first birthday. I have a love-hate relationship with him growing. It is so fun watching him learn and embrace his personality, but I am so sad seeing my baby slowly disappear.

I am going to grade my New Year's Resolutions each month because I want to hold myself accountable.

  1. Less time on my phone- C+, I did delete Tik Tok

  2. Spend more time with God- D, I have not been spending the time I imagined, so I will do more in February!

  3. Workout 5/7 days of the week- C, I was doing good, but sickness got me and I don’t workout while sick.

  4. More experiences & travel- B+, I started planning the travels for this year and I am so excited!

  5. Save more money- C-, I did really good in the beginning of the month, but then I got excited for bradley’s birthday, Valentine’s Day, and trip outfits. Now I did look for deals and really thought on what to get, but I still spent money which means not enough saving.

  6. Clean eating- B, I have been eating less sugary snacks and make sure to eat breakfast

  7. Read at least 50 books- A, I am more than on track to get 50 done this year. I have read 10 books so far and on my 11th.

  8. More self care- A, this month was great because I had my hair done and a spa day, which is not a usual occurence. I do want to make a spa day a quarterly thing.

  9. Stress & worry less- C, something I always struggle with, but working on getting help to improve

  10. Be the best mom that I can be- B, I am trying, but could always do better. I want to start doing more experiences with Bradley. We went to Catch Air with some friends and it was so much fun.

Lately, I have noticed my mental health needs some help so I will be meeting with a new psychiatrist to discuss my meds and what‘s going on. I am currently on Lexapro for my daily meds and Xanax for panic attacks and flying. I recently had an anxiety attack just sitting on the couch and I haven’t had one in a while. I know being a mom is new to me, but I have had a hard time when I leave Bradley for more than a day. I know this is something other moms struggle with, but I don’t cope too well. I will probably look into a therapist just to talk with someone. I will keep you all updated as I want to be able to help someone who may be going through the same thing.

Verse of the Month

”Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” James 1:2-3

Challenges are normal in this everyday life and it will make us stronger in our faith. We may not like them or find joy in the trials, but it will strengthen our relationship with God.

When we face setbacks it is easy to be discouraged and lose hope. But persevering during these challenges are a key part in the Christian journey because God is shaping us.

Remember God is with you and using these experiences to shape you into people that are more like Jesus. Trust in Him and find joy in the journey.

What trials might God be using to strengthen your character? For me, it is finding the calm in the storm; to not stress or worry over something I can’t control.

I pullled this month’s verse from the Bible app which is a great and easy way to connect with God.
