Reset Yourself

Life is an adventure. Life has the ability to be awesome.... or overwhelming and can put you in overdrive. For me, if I don't take care of myself I start to feel my anxiety and depression creep in. Even if life is going amazing, too much going on can put me in a downward spiral. The only way to gain traction is to reset myself. I am talking stop what I am doing and breathe. I take in my surroundings and decide what actions need to be taken to get back on track.

Routine is very important for me. Not necessarily the exact same thing at the exact same time, but the same thing at some point in the day. I always have an iced coffee in the morning. I keep a list of to-dos that are meant to be completed throughout the week rather than in a day. This puts less pressure on getting things done and seeing it on paper calms me down. I workout in the morning or evening. Working out is a huge part of keeping my mental health in order . I have started reading at night before bed instead of scrolling on my phone and that has helped keep my stress levels down. Find what positively impacts you and add it to your daily routine.

For me, getting plenty of sleep is huge. It effects my mentality. If you are like me and become moody and groggy due to lack of sleep try to go to bed early or take a nap during the day. Reset yourself.

Having a baby can make the above difficult, which is why it is even more important to be intentional when it comes to your health. The schedule can constantly change based on the kiddo so you will have to learn to be flexible.

Resetting your gut helps the rest of you feel better. Research shows that a happy healthy gut helps the rest of your body feel happy and healthy. When I am feeling icky especially after vacation, I drink smoothies and detox water. The water is made with lemon, cucumber, and mint to help cleanse the body by flushing out toxins, while also boosting the immune system, providing more hydration, and aiding better digestion. Smoothies are always a healthy alternative and good for the gut especially if made with yogurt. Resetting your digestive track is such a good thing and will significantly impact your mental health and the rest of you.

All of this is easier said than done, but it is so important to be disciplined. Combining healthy eating habits along with a healthy controlled lifestyle will decrease your anxiety and depression levels tremendously. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any more suggestions or questions. Always happy to have a conversation.

XOXO,

E
