Stay Connected with Your Girlfriends
If you are lucky like me you have some really great gals in your life. I have 4 girlies that I have been besties with since high school and we try to stay connected through this crazy life. We’re all in different life stages and live in different locations, but we try to make the time to catch up and get together.
I love that if I don’t see them for a while we pick up right where we left as if no time has gone by.
Recently, we started doing a book Club where every month one of us picks a book. We read it and then at the end of the month we discuss it. When we finish discussing the book, it is a good time for us to catch up on each other’s lives.
This past month, we did a winery tour in the mountains to celebrate a birthday and it was so fun! We enjoyed the beautiful mountains while sipping some tasty wine, having delicious food, and laughing until we cried.
I always feel refreshed after hanging out with my friends. It is so important that in any stage of life you make time for your friends. Relationships are a huge part of life and that goes for family, spouse, community, and friends.
As a new mom I heard a lot of “don’t lose yourself,” “make time for yourself,” “keep your identity ….” Yata, yata, yata…. I understand what people meant now, but I wouldn’t say I have lost myself rather I gained another awesome attribute. It is like adding to my life resume, haha. I love being a mom and a chef and a house keeper and a wife and an interior decorator, the list goes on. With that being said, hanging out with my friends is like a emotional and mental reset which makes an even better wife and mom.
