What I Actually Used at the Hospital for Delivery

You can see what I packed and brought to the hospital from this post.

I will start by saying I did not use everything I brought. However, I was okay with it because I would rather be over-prepared. Since we were in the hospital for almost a week, there was enough clothing for me to wear.

The items that were used the most were:

  • Nursing sports bras

  • Yoga pants

  • Robe

  • Slippers

  • Comfy going home outfit

  • Deodorant

  • Dry Shampoo

  • Phone Charger

  • Pillow and Blanket (life saver and made staying in the hospital a lot more comfortable)

  • Frida Mom Peri Bottle

  • Hospital Post Partum items (saved my Frida Mom kit for home use)

Take as many supplies from the hospital for postpartum as you can because you will use them!

*I forgot my contact solution, toothbrush, and toothpaste (luckily the hospital had some for me to use). Make a list of toiletries that you need to bring. This will allow you to check off a list while you are in a rush to pack. I had everything packed except the toiletry bag, so that is how some things were forgotten.

Bobby did not listen to me when I told him to pack comfy clothes because he thought we would be in and out, haha. *Always listen to your wife.* I would say make sure your husband has a couple of comfy clothes especially for night time so that he doesn’t sleep in his jeans. He brought his own pillow along with his IPad to keep him entertained and comfortable.

The items that were used for baby were:

  • Newborn outfit for pictures

  • Birth announcement sign

  • Take home outfit

  • Pacifiers

  • Comfy baby blanket

  • Burp cloths

  • Socks

  • Pediatrician Info

  • Portable sound machine

*I wish I would have brought his Halo swaddle.

All in all, I think we did pretty good for our first birth experience at the hospital. I am so appreciative to those who suggested items to bring and what to leave at home. Hopefully, I am able to help you prep for your hospital stay. Always feel free to reach out if you have questions.
